Adding Pictures

Each topic screen, with the exception of software, will allow you to show a picture of the item or a scanned image of a document to the page.
These documents can be in any popular image format such as jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp.
They should be in low resolution, usually 72 dot per inch.
If they are of high resolution all that will happen is that they will display more slowly and use more space on you  hard disk.

To take advantage of the archive features of 'Personal Inventory'  you should place your picture files in the
C:\program files\Trialinventory\picture\
folder that is created by 'Personal Inventory' at installation.

Take you pictures or scan your images first and then copy them to the above folder.
You can then select them from the application to show in the page and in the reports.

When you first enter a record the space for the picture will be blank. You can leave it blank if you wish there is no necessity to enter a picture, but it's better for identification purposes if you do.

To select the photo just click the 'Add Photo' button.
This will open pop up screen. The first time you open it the current screen will likely be of the 'My Pictures' folder in 'My Documents'
Use the dropdown at the top of the pop up window to navigate to the C:\program files\Trialinventory\picture\  folder.
You should see the picture file name displayed in the main body of the pop up window.
Highlight the file, if preview is ticked you should see a thumbnail picture of you image,  and click 'Open'.
The picture should now be visible in the 'Personal Inventory' page. There is no need to save it, but if you are prompted then select 'Yes'

You can add a photo from the New record screen or from the browse modify screen.
